
EMERGENCY RENTAL ASSISTANCE PROGRAM (ERAP)

Eligible residents must have a household income at 80% or below the average median income (AMI) in their county.

Union and Snyder counties received a combined $9.8 million for direct emergency rental and utility assistance. Union-Snyder CAA is now processing applications to distribute this emergency funding for eligible residents.
This funding is provided by the Federal Consolidated Appropriations Act and the American Rescue Plan. This program is administered by the Department of Human Services (DHS).
Eligibility

Eligible expenses include rent, utility, and home energy costs through this program.

Eligible households include those who have had a loss of employment, decrease in income, or have increased household costs relating to or due to COVID-19 whether directly or indirectly.

Income guidelines are 80% AMI for county of residency while prioritizing individuals who are facing eviction, have a utility shut off, or have no income.

Applications are accepted on the state's benefits system, compass.state.pa.us.
