COVID-19 BASIC NEEDS DELIVERY PROGRAM
Union-Snyder CAA is on the front line in responding to the need for in-demand resources for Union and Snyder counties’ most vulnerable populations during the COVID-19 pandemic through our new Basic Needs Delivery Program.
This initiative delivers non-perishable food, personal hygiene products, cleaning supplies, and diapers to vulnerable Union and Snyder county households. Delivery drivers are vetted and healthy CAA staff or CORE Susquehanna AmeriCorps members. Drivers are equipped with donated cloth masks from PPE for Central PA and gloves; deliveries will be left outside to avoid any person-to-person contact.
Basic Needs Bags are a collection of essential items designed to help families get through a short period of time between scheduled food pantries and distributions. Click here for our Food Resource Calendar to find long-term food assistance. This program relies on the donations from the community - specifically requested items are not guaranteed.
Households must meet one or more of the following qualifications for this program:
Lives in remote location, or
Without transportation, or
Decreased or no income due to COVID-19, or
Ill or taking care of someone who is ill, or
Need help? Call us at (570) 374-0181 to answer a few basic screening questions to see if you're eligible for a delivery. NOTE: Basic Needs Bags are intended for emergency use only. Please help us save our limited supply to households who are in urgent need.
Want to help? Community members who want to help with this initiative are encouraged to donate basic needs items (non-perishable food, personal hygiene products, cleaning supplies, diapers) and/or equipment (gloves, face masks, NEW paper bags or cardboard boxes). TIP: Hosting a donation drive is a great way to engage friends and family from afar!
All monetary donations will help us keep our supply stocked to meet the increasing demand we’re seeing in our community as the quarantine continues. Online donations can be made directly here.
