The Home Buyer's Program is a program operated through RHI (Resources
for Housing Inc.) with Case Management follow through provided by
Union-Snyder Community Action Agency. This program gives qualified
applicants the opportunity to work on improving their credit over a three
year period. The primary goal of this program is to have its
participants gain improved credit so that they can obtain a low-interest
rate mortgage at the end of the program. RHI is responsible for
eligibility, determination, selection, and enrollment. Houses in
Union County are bought and brought up to code by RHI. Families are
then placed in housing. While in the program, primary goals include
working on money management, credit repair, and maintaining
employment.
For those who successfully obtain the mortgage and keep up with
payments, there is a loan forbearance after five years.
