Our Mission...
is to affirm the dignity of all individuals, families, and communities and to facilitate their development with opportunities to determine and achieve their own goals. The Union - Snyder Community Action Agency works in partnership with consumers, agencies, and communities to address and alleviate the causes and impacts of poverty.

As a Community Action Agency, Our two main functions are...

  1. to provide self-sufficiency
    and stability services to
    low-income individuals including
    the homeless, the working poor,
the unemployed, and those unable to work

  2. to provide community education, organization,
revitalization, and development services to assist
residents and communities in addressing local needs

The Union - Snyder Community Action Agency was formed in 1979 through a joint effort of the Union and Snyder County Commissioners and concerned citizens. The Joinder Board of Commissioners has governed  the Union - Snyder Community Action Agency since its inception, with input from an Advisory Committee of community, low-income, and local government representatives. Agency funding comes from local, state, and federal sources.

Class will be held at the CAA office, 713 Bridge Street, Selinsgrove, PA.

Class Schedule: All classes are 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at CAA, beginning on Wednesday, Sept. 10 and Thursday, Sept. 11.  All other classes are on Wednesdays:  Sept, 24, Oct. 8, Oct. 22, Nov. 5, Nov. 19, Dec. 3, Dec. 17, Jan. 7, Jan. 21, Feb. 4, Feb. 18, March 11.  Portfolios will be due by March 20, and the tentative test review and test date is April 8.
