Our Mission...
is to affirm the dignity of all individuals, families, and communities and to facilitate their development with opportunities to determine and achieve their own goals. The Union - Snyder Community Action Agency works in partnership with consumers, agencies, and communities to address and alleviate the causes and impacts of poverty.

2008 Community Needs Survey
The Union-Snyder Community Action Agency is conducting a 2008 Community Needs Survey to gather community input on needs and concerns regarding the Union-Snyder area. Survey results will be used in planning for services and programs to address identified needs. The Community Needs Survey began in January with over 100 residents surveyed through a service project by CORE Susquehanna AmeriCorps. Twenty AmeriCorps members in five teams went into the Union and Snyder communities and conducted the survey with local residents.

The next step of the survey is to gather input from other residents of Union and Snyder Counties. The survey, which takes about ten minutes to complete, can be filled out online, or by using a paper copy. Respondents are asked to rank responses to two questions regarding local problems and concerns: How great a problem is each of the following for the Union-Snyder area, and what priority should be given to programs that address concerns. Problems and concerns include poverty, employment, community education, housing, budgeting, substance abuse, child abuse, child care, family health, public transportation, and energy conservation.

Paper copies of the survey are currently available at Union and Snyder County libraries. Small groups may request paper copies by contacting Christine at 374-0181 ext. 145

Union and Snyder County residents who would like to give their input may complete the survey by clicking the link "click here to take survey".
